- Arlington - Sustainable Arlington
- Bolton - Town of Bolton Energy Committee
- The Town of Bolton (n. of Worcester) has a town-created committee working on sustainability.
- This group came to my attention because one of its members organized a meeting to present information on using Geothermal for heating & cooling in building projects - Michael 14:38, 4 February 2008 (EST)
- Brookline - Sustainable Brookline - Getting organized, web site not yet populated (8/08)
- Cambridge - Cambridge Energy Alliance
- This is a city-sponsored non-profit that is developing and rolling out a city-wide campaign to reduce energy use by residents and businesses. A large-scale effort that has secured local foundation funding to enable their start-up.
- I have talked with Josh Hassel, their new President. They are just rolling out initial programs after a year's start-up planning. CEA may have some models and will soon have some experience that could be directly applied to some of our efforts - Michael 15:55, 27 August 2008 (EDT)
- Lexington - Lexington Global Warming Action Coalition
- Marlborough - Green Marlborough
- A citizens' based group promoting green/sustainable choices in Marlborough
- Newton - Green Decade Coalition
- A Green Needham collaborating organization that has been working on sustainability in Newton since 1990.
- Winchester - Winchester Energy Management Committee
- Committee sanctioned by Board of Selectmen comprised of two town employees, representatives from other committees and energy professionals living in Winchester.
- Current focus - building champion program in which energy billing data and energy budget information is to be used to make building owners aware of their usage, give them a tool to track their usage and possibly provide an incentive to the building owners (NB - Something I'd like to see in Needham Michael)
- Other areas - looking at building maintenance, building operations policies, rental policies, new building construction plans, energy billing issues and other conservation efforts
