Needham Community Farm Committee

The mission of the Needham Community Farm Committee is to create a center for environmental education for the Needham community, with a focus on teaching organic farming methods and sustainable living practices. These are tools which we believe will become increasingly necessary in our changing world.


The first step towards realizing this mission was taken the spring of 2008 with the establishment of a pilot program at 1147 Central Avenue, adjacent to the Needham Historical Society. Newman Elementay School students helped committee and community volunteers to prepare, plant and care for the gardens. Most of the harvested produce was donated to the Needham Community Counsel Food Pantry.
